Dental implants are a permanent and long-term solution for replacing individual missing teeth.
They are one of the most popular and recommended restorative dentistry treatments due to their strength, durability and how they work to improve your oral foundation.
Our team of dentists at the Calm & Gentle implant clinic have special interests in implantology and have placed thousands of implants throughout their career, achieving an impressive 98% success rate.
Our great level of care and skills of our implantologists and restorative dentists have earned us highly-rated reviews from our happy patients.

The procedure: Everything you need to know
So, how are dental implants placed? Using a titanium screw that’s placed directly into the jawbone, the implant acts as an artificial root, which can support a crown for a lifetime.
After implantation, the bone surrounding the implant will begin to heal and fuse to the implant, gradually securing it into place.
This process is known as osseointegration.
Once this period of healing is over, a false tooth (often a porcelain crown or denture), which is designed to blend with existing teeth is then fixed to the implant.
It is possible to have several implants if more than one tooth needs replacing, which can be done in the same procedure.
This process can either involve multiple individual implants (which take a bit longer), or the All-on-Four method which uses four implants to secure a set of high-grade dentures.
The procedure will be carried out in our dental surgery using local anaesthesia – patients often report little discomfort with slight soreness of the gums after the procedure which can be treated with over the counter medications.
For overly anxious patients, we can offer sedation to help you relax – just let us know your requirements and we will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
Who can get individual implants?
Whilst suitable for most adults with healthy gums and a good overall oral health, dental implants will only be suitable for candidates who have a sufficient amount of jaw bone.
In some cases, where tooth loss is present and ignored for some time, the bone in the jaw may have depleted, which may require some patients to undergo prior treatments like bone grafts and sinus lifts.
Infections like gum disease will also need to be treated.
The dentist may not prescribe dental implants if you are a smoker, suffer from the more serious periodontal disease or have jaw radiotherapy to the jaw area.
How much does a single implant cost
The cost of dental implants can vary, depending on any additional treatments needed and the amount of work you require. Dental implants cost more than bridges and dentures because they provide a much stronger solution to replace missing teeth. More.
We offer 0% finance across our cosmetic and restorative treatments.
When looking at the benefits of implants, they far outweigh the cost.

Many patients we meet often have low-confidence, speech and chewing difficulty as a result of missing teeth.
However, as the physical consequences can often be spotted, what patients often miss are the underlying problems that a lost tooth can cause to their oral health.
Potential problems can include:
- Tooth loss
- Bone loss
- Formation of gum/periodontal disease
- Infection and decay
- Jaw infection
